Marino Joins CSR

Dr. Michael Marino has joined the Center for Scientific Review as the scientific review administrator for the SSS-Y study section, which reviews small business grant applications in the genetic sciences. He received his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from American University while at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. He served as deputy chief of its developmental branch DOD DNA registry. He then moved to an AFIP contractor, the Center for Medical and Molecular Genetics, to manage its operational genetics DNA laboratory. While there, he developed a high-throughput screen for identifying DNA. Before joining CSR, Marino was director of applied genomics and molecular genetics at Transgenomic, Inc., where he discovered and developed biomarkers in genes involved in cancer progression.
