Film Festival Draws More Than 65,000

The 9th annual NIH-Comcast Outdoor Film Festival attracted more than 65,000 moviegoers from NIH and the community to support charities at NIH including the Children's Inn, Friends of the Clinical Center, Special Love/Camp Fantastic and the R&W Foundation. Funds raised for these charities amounted to almost $50,000. Attendees enjoyed such movies as Shrek 2, Million Dollar Baby, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Shark Tale during the 10 evenings of film. Below, a full moon hovers over a large crowd assembled on the lawn. In the middle photo, the Maru family has a great time at Raiders of the Lost Ark. At bottom, students and friends from the Maret School get together at the festival. R&W President Randy Schools thanks Strathmore Hall and the American Speech-Language- Hearing Association for hosting the event after it moved from the NIH campus following 9/11.
