Study Participants with Memory Problems Sought

Researchers at the National Institute on Aging seek participants with mild cognitive impairment or early stage Alzheimer’s disease. Researchers are investigating a drug called “exendin-4” (exenatide, trade name Byetta). The study will see if the injection of exendin-4 is safe and how it affects brain chemistry and memory in people with mild cognitive impairment or mild Alzheimer’s disease. Patients with Fatty Liver Needed

Researchers at NIDDK seek people with fatty liver disease to participate in a study. Scientists want to learn more about food metabolism in people with fatty liver disease. If you have been diagnosed with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease or steatohepatitis you may be interested in participating. Participants will stay 2 nights at the Clinical Center. Study Seeks Healthy Older Adults

Healthy older adults ages 55-75 are invited to participate in an outpatient research study investigating the benefits of omega-3 oil and blackcurrant supplements on vascular health. The goal of the study is to determine whether the supplements improve blood flow and blood vessel function that can affect your heart.  Eligible participants must be medication-free and in good general health. The study will be carried out in an outpatient clinic and includes 4 visits over 6 months. Volunteers Needed for Energy Study

NIDDK seeks healthy Caucasian men, 55-75 years old, and women 18-35 to participate in a research study. Doctors want to learn how the body burns energy at different temperatures.
