Dr. Jeri L. Miller, chief of NINR’s Office of End-of-Life and Palliative Care Research, has been selected by the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine’s (AAHPM) board of directors as the recipient of an AAHPM Presidential Citation Award to be presented during the annual Assembly of Hospice and Palliative Care this coming March.

The award acknowledges individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of hospice and palliative medicine. The AAHPM citation recognizes the “outstanding efforts and the leadership role of the NINR Office of End-of-Life and Palliative Care Research to stimulate innovative research initiatives, creating opportunities for collaborative activities and facilitating interdisciplinary science.”

AAHPM is the only national medical specialty society for hospice and palliative medicine. Since 1988, it has supported hospice and palliative medicine through professional education and training, development of a specialist workforce, support for clinical practice standards, research and public policy advocacy.
