MacKinnon To Give Next ‘Mind the Gap’ Seminar, Apr. 8

Dr. David P. MacKinnon, Foundation professor, department of psychology, Arizona State University, will present on the topic “Applying Mediation Analysis to Understand How Interventions Work” at the next Medicine: Mind the Gap seminar. The event is scheduled for Friday, Apr. 8 from 11 a.m. to noon via NIH Videocast, http://videocast.nih.gov/.

MacKinnon will describe mediation analysis methods with attention to solutions for some of the limitations of these methods. He has been developing, evaluating and applying methods to assess how interventions work for 30 years. He received the Merit Research in Time Award from the National Institute on Drug Abuse for his research on mediation analysis. He was a consulting editor of the journal Prevention Science and is on the editorial board of Psychological Methods. MacKinnon has been a principal investigator on several NIH grants.
