NHLBI’s Tisdale Honored at Dinner

Dr. John Tisdale, a senior investigator in NHLBI’s Molecular and Clinical Hematology Branch, recently won the Silver Innovator Award from the Alliance for Aging Research at its recent Congressional Awards dinner. The award is presented to an individual who anticipates and embraces the evolution of high-quality research aligned with the needs of older patients.

Tisdale’s research and clinical work center on sickle cell disease. His group focuses on developing curative strategies for sickle cell disease through transplantation of allogeneic or genetically modified autologous bone marrow stem cells.
