NIH leaders and scientific staff met with a delegation of their counterparts from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) on Nov. 22 for a day-long symposium organized by the Fogarty International Center.

The event, opened by NIH director Dr. Francis Collins, included two cross-cutting plenary panels and 18 technical break-out groups. The symposium was intended to explore new ways to collaborate on building the research workforce, advancing game-changing emerging technologies and discovering treatments and cures for diseases.
