NIMHD 10th Anniversary Scientific Symposium, Mar. 3

The year 2020 marks the 10th anniversary of the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities. The NIMHD 10th Anniversary Scientific Symposium: Innovations to Promote Health Equity will showcase the latest discoveries in minority health and health disparities research. It takes place Tuesday, Mar. 3 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Kirschstein Auditorium, Bldg. 45.

Recent news coverage on topics such as maternal mortality, medication ineffectiveness, vaping and diet-related cancers reflect both the acknowledgement of disparities in health and health care and the urgent need to ensure all populations are fully engaged in biomedical research. Leading researchers investigating these and other topics will help crystalize and further explore our current knowledge about the determinants of health and their impact on minority health and health disparities.
