Metformin-related gastrointestinal side effects (bloating, diarrhea, cramping, nausea and vomiting) are common barriers to treatment in youths with type 2 diabetes (T2D), in whom there are no other oral FDA-approved alternatives. NIDDK researchers need your help to test whether taking a daily fiber supplement could improve tolerance of metformin. Compensation is provided.
