TIME Magazine has named Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett to the TIME100 Next 2021 List. A viral immunologist and research fellow in NIAID’s Vaccine Research Center, Corbett focuses on coronavirus biology. Her team’s work has been central to the development of Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine and the Eli Lilly therapeutic monoclonal antibody.

NIAID director Dr. Anthony Fauci wrote Corbett’s TIME100 Next profile. In it, he called Corbett a “rising star” in the immunology community whose “work will have a substantial impact on ending the worst respiratory disease pandemic in more than 100 years.”

The TIME list “recognizes 100 emerging leaders who are shaping the future of entertainment, health, politics, business and more.”

Corbett was also named one of People Magazine’s Women Changing the World. She was featured as one of four of the many women behind Covid-19 vaccine development.
