Annual Safety, Health & Wellness Day Set, June 29

NIH Safety, Health and Wellness Day will be held on Thursday, June 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the south lawn and patio of Bldg. 10, Bethesda campus. Everyone is welcome. Enjoy the activities and learn about safety, health and wellness opportunities at NIH.

NHGRI’s Kastner To Deliver Mider Lecture

Dr. Dan Kastner of the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) will deliver the annual G. Burroughs Mider Lecture, part of the Wednesday Afternoon Lecture Series (WALS), on June 7 at 2 p.m. ET.

STEM Statues Installed at NIH to Mark Clinical Center’s 70th Anniversary

This summer, it may seem as though art has come to life in celebration of the Clinical Center’s 70th anniversary. Now through Aug. 25, the hospital is hosting 10 statues from #IfThenSheCan—The Exhibit. These 3-D printed, life-size statues feature women innovators in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). And several have ties to NIH.

NIH Signs MOU with Korean Health Industry Officials

Dr. Lawrence Tabak, performing the duties of NIH director, and Dr. Cha Soon Do, president of the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, signed an MOU that in part relaunched the Korean Visiting Scientist Training Award program.

Bike to Work Day Set for May 19

The NIH Bicycle Commuter Club and the Division of Amenities and Transportation Services invite you to celebrate Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 19 in front of Bldg. 1 from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

FOAs Now Known as NOFOs

NIH is joining other federal agencies in using the term “notices of funding opportunities (NOFOs)” instead of “funding opportunity announcements (FOAs),” in an effort to standardize terminology across the government.
