Dr. Charles M. Rice
Dr. Charles M. Rice of the Rockefeller University will give the annual George Khoury Lecture on Wednesday, June 8, 3-4 p.m. in Masur Auditorium, Bldg. 10. The lecture is titled “Hepatitis C and beyond: Never a dull moment.”

Rice is head of the Laboratory for Virology and Infectious Disease at the Rockefeller University. He is a prominent figure in research on members of the Flaviviridae including hepatitis C virus. Rice’s lab works to understand virus replication and innate immune responses that limit infection. His group is also developing new in vitro culture and animal models to facilitate this work.

This annual lecture, part of the Wednesday Afternoon Lecture Series, honors the memory of virologist Dr. George Khoury, who was highly regarded as a superb scientist and caring mentor of the postdoctoral fellows in his laboratory.
