Michie To Give Next ‘Mind the Gap’ Seminar, Mar. 7

Dr. Susan Michie, professor of health psychology, director of the Centre for Behaviour Change at University College London and co-director of the U.K.’s National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training, will present on the topic “Reducing Waste in Research: Use of Taxonomies and Frameworks of Behaviour Change” at the next Medicine: Mind the Gap seminar. Her presentation is Monday, Mar. 7 from 11 a.m. to noon via NIH Videocast,

Michie will discuss how interventions to change behavior can improve health and well-being. Better answers are needed to the big question: What interventions are effective in changing what behaviors, for whom, in what circumstances and how? Her presentation will describe a method for specifying the “active ingredients” of interventions.
