NIA director Dr. Richard Hodes was recently honored with the President’s Council on Fitness award. NIA director Dr. Richard Hodes was recently honored with the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition’s 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award. He was one of five recipients of this year’s award, which recognizes individuals whose careers have greatly contributed to the advancement or promotion of physical activity, fitness, sports and nutrition-related programs nationwide.

The award was presented recently by Dr. Wanda Jones, senior advisor, offices of the assistant secretary for preparedness and response and assistant secretary for health at HHS, and JoHannah Torkelson, Oakridge Institute of Science and Education fellow at the President’s Council.
