NIMHD Seminar Addresses ‘How to Heal Health Care’

Dr. Martin Shapiro, general internist and professor of medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College, will present a virtual lecture, “A Broken System: American Health Care Needs Combination Therapy,” on Thursday, Dec. 7 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. ET. The talk is part of the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) Director’s Seminar Series. 

Shapiro studies accessibility of care and health disparities. He will discuss how to understand the U.S. health care system. After the lecture, NIMHD Director Dr. Eliseo J. Pérez-Stable and NCI Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences Director Dr. Katrina Goddard will moderate a Q&A. Virtual audience members will be able to submit questions and comments at NIMHDDSS@mail.nih.gov

This event, co-sponsored by the NIH Outcomes and Effectiveness Research Interest Group, is open to staff, trainees and external groups.
