NIH Director Dr. Jay Bhattacharya recently rolled up his sleeves for an important cause: donating blood at the Clinical Center’s Blood Bank. He said he hopes his donation might inspire others who are able to give.

There’s often a critical need for multiple types of blood as well as platelets at the CC Blood Bank, which serves protocol patients who need blood for surgeries, emergency transfusions and treatments.

To schedule a donation appointment: call 301-496-1048, email nihbloodbank@cc.nih.gov or visit www.cc.nih.gov/bloodbank to book online. Walk-ins are also welcome.

CC Blood Bank hours are Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
