Study Subjects Sought

Volunteers Needed for Cognitive Studies

The Laboratory of Brain and Cognition, NIMH, is seeking healthy volunteers ages 18-45 to participate in research on learning and memory. Procedures require approximately 3 hours over the course of 2 days. Participants will be paid. Call 496-5625 ext. 211.

Parents Over 35 Needed

The Child Psychiatry Branch, NIMH, is seeking parents over age 35 to participate in a study on eye movements. Both parents should be available and children should have no history of significant emotional or behavioral problems. The study takes 1.5 hours for each parent and includes a brief interview by a staff psychiatrist in addition to eye tracking test. For eye tracking, subjects wear goggles that monitor eye movements while watching a moving target on a computer screen. Parents can be tested on same or different day and will be compensated individually for their time. Both parents can complete study in 1.5 hours. Children of parents can also participate if over age 8 and will be additionally compensated. For more information, call Maria Brown at 435-6531.

Do you have a work-related upper extremity problem or injury, i.e., carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, or repetitive strain injury of the fingers, wrist, elbow or shoulder? USUHS is conducting a study that includes a $40 payment. Volunteers must be ages 20-60, seen by a physician in the past month and currently working. Call (301) 295-9659.
